Drill heads for metalworking and machining are commonly available in these configurations:
Sometimes referred to as multi-prong drills/tools, are best used for equally spaced drill patterns which include bolt circle patterns and square patterns only. They are best fitted for customers whose requirements may change but end up keeping the same spacing. All spindles will spin in the same direction leaving the output/input ratio to always be 1:1. Multi-spindle heads are commonly used for drilling horizontal machining centers as well as reaming, tapping and plunge milling machinery.
Fixed Pattern Head
Usually have a very compact size, low weight and low overall height compared to similar adjustable multi-spindle heads. This tends to be a big advantage for many installations. These drill heads are mainly used for irregular drill patterns or a fixed pattern that never changes.
Offset Spindle Head
If your part has any kind of obstruction such as a protrusion or wall, the offset spindle head can be very useful. The output spindle/spindles are not in the same line as the input of the head itself and can actually come placed in locations where the driving mechanism does not necessarily fit. The offset input on the multi-spindle head can move the drive mechanism far enough away from any obstacle to solve many of your space related part issues.
Multiple styles available.
High quality bearings.
Less down time.
